Rivers de Tarentaise
Franceraft whitewater activities on two rivers in the Tarentaise valley, the Isère and the Doron de Bozel. These two rivers, at the gateway to the Parc de la Vanoises, are the most famous in Savoie for rafting and whitewater sports.
Isère
From Bourg St Maurice to Centron, rafting, hydrospeed, Canoraft or airboat, the Isère provides an excellent playground for whitewater sports enthusiasts. At the halfway point, the famous Aime rapids have thrilled generations of kayakers. The descent ends at the magnificent gorges de la Pucelle and the Centron rapids, ideal for white-water swimming and canorafting. The Intégrale de l’Isère course offers 22 km of rapids from Bourg Saint Maurice to Centron, one of the longest runs in France. Rapids range from class III to class IV. (Rivers in France are rated from I to VI).
The rafting trip down the Isère lasts about 2h30, and you arrive at our base.
The Isère rises at the Col de l’Iseran and is fed by melting snow from the Vanoise glaciers, making it a high-volume river. The Tignes hydroelectric dam tames the flow and ensures constant water flows throughout the season.
